Ang pelikulang "Magellan" ng award-winning director na si Lav Diaz ang napili ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) na ipadala sa Oscar awards para sa taong 2026.

Bilang suporta sa pelikula, popondohan ng FDCP ng PHP 1 million ang "Magellan" para sa kampanya nito para maiuwi ang Best International Feature Film award ng Oscars.
